KMG honored Ibrahim Hamdetto, the Paralympic table tennis player, Fatima Omar, player of the first national team for Paralympic weightlifting, and swimmer Amr Abu Shakra, the water polo player, on the sidelines of announcing its partnership with the international company “Meizu” specialized in the manufacture of mobile phones, In a ceremony held at the foot of the pyramids.

KMG, the agent of the smartphone, Meizu, represented by Egypt, won the award for the best smartphone launch events in the Middle East 2017 in the Retail Academy competition, which was organized in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

The Retail Academy competition is one of the most important competitions for institutions, companies, merchants and entrepreneurs in the Middle East for the retail sector, in order to create a competitive spirit to offer their products and services to the consumer.

KMG has announced the presence of Meizu in Egypt and is its exclusive agent through a grand launch ceremony at the Great Pyramids.
Meizu is a Chinese company founded in 2003 by Jack Wong, with the aim of providing a smooth, simple user interface with High-quality materials with everything the user needs.

The panel discussion at Distress Middle East 2016 consisted of Venkat Reddy, COO and Co-Founder of Legacy International; Toufic Eido, Regional Channel Manager, Virgin Megastore; Atheeq Ahmed, General Manager, Ctroniq; Karim Ghoneim, KMG Egypt; and Muddassir Ahmad, DGM Strategic Alliances, Sharaf DG (left to right). The panel debated whether the retail channel business was still healthy and the opinion was it is, but that there are corrections that need to be applied. These included price wars, setting customer expectations in terms of product information, and in-store retail experience. The consumer retail channel is still a very big opportunity and needs to focus on offers and lifestyle experiences. While the retail industry has always been challenging, there are different kinds of challenges now, and the channel has to innovate by making lifestyle easy. Some of the hot technologies include augmented virtual reality, 3D printing, fitness trackers and a large selection of wearables. The panel discussed that the hottest category of products is usually short-term products.
